Stephen Reed, CPA, Shareholder, is the Managing Director of Cowan, Gunteski & Co.’s office in Shrewsbury, New Jersey. His extensive experience includes working with clients in the manufacturing industry to improve their profitability.  By looking beyond the numbers and focusing on key management functions, such as productivity, cost, price, quality control and competition, he is able to make significant improvements to a manufacturer’s bottom line. Mr. Reed provides management advisory services in numerous areas, including cost containment models, distribution models, inventory costing models (LIFO/FIFO), facilities planning, supply chain management, as well as production management.  

Mr. Reed has the industry knowledge and expertise to help manufacturers take full advantage of increased tax incentives, along with other industry specific benefits to which they may be entitled. These include R&D tax credits, manufacturers/producer deductions, corporate and multi-state tax issues, sales and use tax, and the maximization of depreciation or lease expense. In addition, he is well versed in mergers and acquisitions, valuations, financial statement analysis, debt restructuring, and financing options.
