Areas of Expertise

Patrick Cottell has nearly 15 years of experience in providing valuation and forensic accounting services to the legal community in New Jersey. After graduating from Georgetown University Law Center in 1990, he began practicing law with a prominent New Jersey law firm. In 1995, Mr. Cottell joined a New Jersey certified public accounting firm that focused on forensic accounting and litigation support. Since that time he has gained expertise in fraud investigations, white collar crime, forensic accounting, defense of individuals and businesses in governmental investigations, business interruption claims, valuations, cash flow and lifestyle analyses, damage calculations, asset tracing, business dissolutions and shareholder disputes.

Mr. Cottell joined the Litigation Services & Business Valuation Group at Cowan, Gunteski & Co., P.A. in 2002. He has extensive experience in the courtroom, initially as an attorney and now as a fraud, white collar crime and valuation expert. Since the majority of litigated matters are resolved prior to trial, Mr. Cottell also utilizes his specialized skills and unique experience to assist attorneys and clients in settling disputed issues.
